Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death globally. Although clinical practice guidelines on coronary revascularization exist, clinicians still find it challenging to decide among medical therapy alone, percutaneous coronary intervention, and coronary artery bypass graft surgery due to unique patient characteristics and preferences. By leveraging rich, large-scale patient data assets available in Alberta, we have been developing and commercializing an artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support system to provide personalized, data-driven treatment decision support at the point of care. This talk will discuss the opportunities and challenges that we have and will continue to face in our commercialization path, as well as why commercialization is a good way to develop clinically impactful digital health solutions.
This webinar is presented in collaboration with Alberta Innovates and the AICE Concepts Program.
